I’m sure there was an audible cheer when a financial services company in the middle of Lyme Regis was replaced by a traditional sweet shop!
Lyme Rocks is a wonderful step back in time, with jars of all the favourites (Cola Cubes, since you ask) and lots of newer sweets and chocolates. Tucked away next to the Tourist Information Centre and overlooking the sea, they also have a great range of ice-creams, sorbets and frozen yoghurts, with tubs and cones, and all the extras.
Fiona and Leo have been holidaying in Lyme Regis several times a year for many years, so it seemed sensible to up sticks and make the move more permanent. They are keen to slot into the community, and the bright murals in the shop were created by the art department at Woodroffe School. I wonder how many students have popped in ‘to see the paintings’?!
They are already expanding, with a new room full of carefully selected, cheerful homewares and gifts. Fot Mother’s Day, birthdays, or just because, there are some great pieces, ranging from pocket-money items to lovely homewares and decorative accessories.
If you are in Lyme and in need of a sweet treat, I highly recommend a visit to Lyme Rocks.
